STASH
Stash young people’s drug service aims to empower young people to make informed choices about their lifestyle regarding substance/alcohol use. The team will assess the service users needs through an assessment process. This begins initially with a triage/screening assessment for every person referred to the service and is followed up where appropriate with a comprehensive assessment of need. Following this assessment process a care plan is then produced with the young person which, is specifically tailored to meet their needs.
Some of the interventions that the team deliver include:
- Providing relevant information and advice for young people on a range of drug issues
- Reduce the physical harm caused by the use of drugs through screenings, health assessments, immunisations, vaccinations and needle exchange.
- Providing up to date harm reduction information.
- Treatment interventions including stabilising and reduction programmes
- One to one support to achieve treatment goals.
- Complimentary Therapies including Acupuncture and Electro Stimulation Therapy.
- Support to access opportunities and link into mainstream services such as education, training, housing, and employment.
- An activities programme used to engage and encourage self esteem.
Referral Criteria:
Anyone under the age of 19 can be referred to the service if they are experiencing difficulties directly linked to drug or alcohol use.
