Pathways to Work
Pathways to Work is the new Department of Work & Pensions national initiative to help and support people who are claiming an incapacity or disability benefit into employment. DISC are delivering this service in the Leeds, Batley and Wakefield areas in partnership with several other organisations.

The programme engages with clients who are currently unemployed as a result of incapacity or disability and who wish to move forward into training or employment.

Pathways Personal Advisors meet with clients to provide information, advice, guidance, motivation, support to overcome barriers to work, improve employability and to address issues affecting the clients ability to find employment. Staff also help to source and match training and employment opportunities for each client, including work placements. We prepare clients for application and interview, and provide in-work support to clients and employers for 52 weeks after starting their employment. Once clients have entered employment they may be eligible to claim Return to Work Credit (£40 per week tax free payment).

Referral Criteria
People on a Incapacity/Disability Based Benefit who are currently unemployed who need help to access education, training or employment living in Leeds, Wakefield or Batley.
