DISC > Independent Living > Family Intervention

The aim of the project is to provide support, tailored to suit the needs of individual families who are threatened with eviction or who have been evicted due to anti-social behaviour, in order to bring about behavioural change necessary to maintain their tenancy.

We believe that a firm, but supportive approach should be used in an effort to keep families together and in their home. The focus must be on creating change and ensuring that anti-social families understand the serious consequences of their behaviour - they could lose their home and their children. We feel a supportive approach should be attempted before legal remedies are employed.

In 2006 we were awarded additional funding from the Home Office to expand this floating support element and also develop phase 2 to re-house families in dispersed properties with intensive support as per the Respect Agenda.
