In September our Back To You team in Leeds won a National Training Award for Education & Training at the Yorkshire and Humber regional training awards in Leeds Town Hall.

Charity Awards Back 2 You Programme

Back to You is a behavioural change programme for ex-offenders with substance misuse issues who are not engaging with training, education and employment or re-integrating into the community. Back To You started as a pilot project in Hartlepool and is now run at Mabgate Mill in Leeds and at other DISC projects.

Secondly our Lancashire Floating Support Partnership was highly commended in the Charity Partnership category at the prestigious Third Sector Excellence Awards ceremony in London on Thursday Sept 24.

The partnership provides a safety net to prevent people across north, south and west Lancashire from becoming homeless. It offers specialist support to enable people to find and settle into suitable homes, manage their money and look for training and work opportunities.

Earlier in 2009 we won the public sector organisation of the year category in the 2008 Durham and Wearside Business Awards and were a finalist in the 2008 North East Business Awards.

We were also highly commended in both the Research, Advice and Support and the Effectiveness categories of the prestigious national Charity Awards www.charityawards.co.uk 2009.
