Our Success at North East Equality Awards

To our great delight Billijean won the award and was presented with a unique trophy designed by artist Stephanie Moore.

Billijean said 'I am totally shocked, overwhelmed and privileged to not only have been nominated for this award, but to have won it with such strong competition. It is testament to DISC as an organisation for me to take forward my work supporting people.'

The Judges fed back that this was one of the strongest categories and had been the hardest to judge, after lengthy deliberation the judges felt that the contribution and innovation shown by BilliJean had put her ahead of the competition
