Progress 2 Work (P2W) engages with clients who have brought their substance misuse under control or who have stopped using altogether and who wish to move forward into training or employment.
Staff meet clients to provide information, advice, guidance, motivation, support to overcome barriers to work, improve employability and to address social issues affecting the clients ability to find employment. Staff also help to source and match training and employment opportunities for each client. We prepare clients for application and interview, and support clients for 13 weeks after starting employment.
Referral Criteria:
People on a Working Age Benefit who have had a drug misuse issue but are stable and motivated and who need help to access education, training or employment living in County Durham.

Progress 2 Work Link Up
Provides one to one support for people who have an offending background, those with accommodation issues and people with alcohol issues.
The service aims to address these barriers that may be preventing them from accessing training and employment opportunities whilst providing additional support in accessing housing, sustaining treatment or preventing relapse.
Referral Criteria:
Unemployed 18|64 yrs, must have had previous drug or alcohol use, offending background or homelessness and live within Gateshead & South Tyneside.
