Springboard
Springboard is designed to help participants who have been claiming benefits for over 6 months to attain work experience to help gain the social and life skills needed in attaining permanent employment. Springboard is run through DISC and in partnership with Jobcentre Plus in Leeds and Wakefield. We have helped people from all walks of life into different areas of employment. The people we help move back into work are motivated and willing to get back into employment. Areas we can help with We can provide employment related training to meet the needs of service users and potential employers, including:-
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Effective team working skills.
  • Further qualifications in literacy and numeracy to improve their skills to City and Guilds Level 2.
  • Ongoing support from their Springboard project worker.
  • We also strive to make effective employment relationships that work.
Other areas we can support with...
  • Provide participants a match for the skills employers require for a voluntary placement for up to 11 weeks. This service is free of charge.
What the employer can expect from us and what we expect from the employerc
  • We will communicate with the service user regularly to see if the participant is meeting the employers requirements and help identify specific training needs. From the employer we expect that they will keep us informed of the progress of our participants in all aspects of their job. We are here to help.
